This is a painting of the heart of the beautiful market town of Todmorden, where I live. I love the architecture and the uniform sandstone colour. Todmorden is located in the Pennines in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. We have a very vibrant and colourful community here and I love it. I painted this in the summer when it was wet and dreary, so I thought I would cheer it up with an intense blue sky. The painting is acrylic on paper and, including mount, is 41 x 51 cm. The actual painting is 29.7 x 42 cm.
