Todmorden is part of the Pennine Way because the trail passes Stoodley Pike. But, in the early days, when the long trek was being formed, Todmorden was still a working mill town full of black buildings and not a place considered visiting. So, unfortunately, it was left out of the tourist map. But that was a long time ago and Todmorden is very much a beautiful, vibrant community with outstanding countryside, a rich history and lots to do and see. Oh, and some of the gorgeous buildings have been cleaned up too!
